Former BAMSL president launches solo office

Published: June 25, 2012

Thomas Glick

After five years with Danna McKitrick, former Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis President Tom Glick is hanging out his own shingle.

Glick, an estate-planning and real estate attorney, set up shop in Clayton, according to a press release.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for me to experience the level of personal and professional independence I enjoyed from 1999 to 2007 and my experience from that time allows me to focus on the practice of law without having to learn how to manage a practice,” Glick said in the press release.

Lower overhead will allow him to charge lower rates, Glick said in the press release.

Glick served as BAMSL president in 2010 and 2011. Glick also has served as vice-president of the Legal Services of Eastern Missouri board since 2007 and is on the Continuing Legal Education and Probate and Trust Law committees of the Missouri Bar. He earned his law degree from the University of Missouri.

Before he joined 28-attorney corporate firm Danna McKitrick, which also is based in Clayton, Glick practiced with Glick Finley, a three-attorney law office. Glick’s plan to join Danna McKitrick led to acrimony with his then-law partner, Karen Finley, that was so ugly that at one point police had to intervene in a scuffle. Missouri Lawyers Weekly reported on the breakup of Glick Finley in 2008.
