The executive director of the Missouri Bar has joined the Bar Plan Foundation, an organization aimed at promoting and improving ethics and professionalism in law.
The foundation announce last week in a press release that Keith Birkes joined the foundation as a trustee. Birkes has served as the Missouri Bar’s executive director since 1985. He plans to retire from that position in 2012.
“I am excited to join The Bar Plan Foundation in a capacity that will allow me to assist The Foundation in supporting the legal community,” said Birkes in a statement. “The Missouri Bar and I have supported The Bar Plan for many years. ”
In addition running risk management seminars, the Bar Foundation also provides scholarships to third-year law students. It also shares proceeds from its annual golf tournament with beneficiary charities from around the state.
