Armstrong Teasdale’s Kansas City office plans to move five floors down

Law firm news

Armstrong Teasdale lawyers in Kansas City were considering four other buildings to move into before signing a lease last month and moving just five floors down.

The law firm signed a new lease in February for floors 14 and 15 within its current building at 2345 Grand Blvd. in Kansas City, says Larry Tucker, the firm’s managing attorney there. The firm now occupies floors 19 and 20.

The firm sent out requests for proposals for four other locations plus its current building, he said. Firm lawyers decided to stay there because it would be the least disruptive move. Also, it would allow the firm to stay in a preferred location and it was cost-effective, Tucker said.

Tucker declined to specify the other locations the firm considered and would not provide details on the firm’s lease rates, only saying it was a “very fair deal.”

Armstrong Teasdale’s old lease is up in late November and the firm plans to move in by then.

The firm’s new office will have 30,000 square feet, about the size of its current space, he said. Though it’s the same size, the new office allows for a complete redesign. He said the new office will have more public space and conference areas and possibly smaller attorney offices.
