The Jackson County Circuit Court is mourning the death of retired Judge K. Preston Dean II.
Dean, 64, died Saturday at his home, according to court spokeswoman Mary Jacobi.
Gov. John Ashcroft appointed Dean to the court in 1989, and he served until 2006. According to his official biography in the state manual, he had previously served as an assistant attorney general and an assistant U.S. attorney, among other roles.
