Washington University Honors Supporters Of Clinical Law Programs

The Washington University School of Law recently honored St. Louis attorneys, judges and faculty for their support of the Clinical Education Program over the past 25 years.

The ceremony was held at Anheuser-Busch Hall following a lecture on “Race and the American Legal Process” delivered by civil rights activist and author Derrick Bell, a professor of law at New York University.

Legal Services of Eastern Missouri and the Public Defenders Office of St. Louis County were recognized for their 25 years of partnership with the clinical program. Judge Theodore McMillian of the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals was honored for his 25 years as a supervising judge for judicial clerkship interns from the law school.

Other honorees included: Merton C. Bernstein, the Walter D. Coles Professor of Law Emeritus; Judge David C. Mason, St. Louis City Circuit Court; Judge Susan Block, St. Louis County Circuit Court; Samuel Liberman; Irl Baris; Jerome Raskas; Marshall Friedman; and Merle Silverstein.
