David L. Heinemann has joined the Kansas City firm of Shank, Laue and Hamilton as Of Counsel and will practice in the areas of commercial litigation, employment discrimination litigation, and appellate law. A 1987 graduate of Duke University School of Law, he served as an editorial board member of the Duke Law Journal. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri in 1984. He is a former clerk for Judge James K. Logan of the 10th U.S. Court Circuit of Appeals. He entered private practice in 1988 and was previously a shareholder with the Kansas City firm of Stinson, Mag & Fizell.

Gordon F. Sieckmann has joined the St. Louis office of Thompson Coburn as a partner in the intellectual property and information technology practice. Most recently he was an associate of the New York City firm of Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto. He practices in the areas of patent, trade secret protection, Internet law and Y2K issues. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and a law degree from the University of Louisville.

Dennis J.M. Donahue III joins Thompson Coburn as an associate in the intellectual property practice. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law. Most recently he was with The Boeing Company.

Paul Lesko also joins Thompson Coburn as an associate, where he will practice in the areas of patent, trademark and copyright law. He received his undergraduate degrees from the University of Illinois and his law degree from Tulane School of Law.

Eighteen other associates have joined Thompson Coburn in St. Louis.

Mark R. Bagley is a graduate of the University of Chicago and is a member of the intellectual property and information technology practice.

Cherie Stephens Bock is a graduate of Saint Louis University School of Law and practices in the areas of banking and commercial finance practice.

Benjamin G. Carter graduated from Washington University School of Law and will practice in the area of estate planning.

Michele L. Davis received her law degree from Boston College and will practice in the corporate and securities practice area.

Nichole Emnett graduated from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville and is a member of the estate planning practice.

Ben Foster is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and is a member of the government contracts litigation practice.

Susan M. Gerling graduated from Washington University School of Law and is a member of the environmental practice area.

Troy E. Groat received his law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is a member of the commercial litigation practice.

Erik L. Hansell is a graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Law and joins the product liability practice.

Laura M. Jordan is a graduate of Washington University School of Law and joins the labor and employment practice.

Lisa A. Keesling is a graduate of the John Marshall School of Law and joins the firm’s products liability practice area.

Vanessa R. McKenzie graduated from Washington University School of Law and joins the small business practice area.

Matt McIntyre graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law and is a member of the banking and commercial practice.

Joshua M. Mistler received his law degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and is a member of the firm’s real estate and gaming practice.

Suzanne Montgomery graduated from Washington University School of Law and joins the litigation practice.

Aisha K. Nawaz graduated from the University of Texas and is a member of the government practice.

Rebecca S. Raye is a graduate of Tulane Law School and joins the labor and employment practice area.

Phillip Stanton graduated from Washington University School of Law and is a member of the corporate and securities practice.

Rick D. Holtsclaw of Kansas City has formed the Holtsclaw Law Firm at 922 Walnut, Suite 900, Kansas City 64106. He received his law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and spent three years as assistant prosecutor for Jackson County in the sex crimes division. He handles personal injury cases, Federal Employers’ Liability Act cases, products liability and commercial litigation.

Judge Richard B. Teitelman of the Missouri Court of Appeals’ Eastern District has been awarded the Fellow of the St. Louis Bar Foundation Award. The award is given annually to a member of the legal profession who exhibits service to the community and profession and a charitable spirit. He was appointed to the Court of Appeals in 1997 after 17 years with Legal Services of Eastern Missouri.

Jennifer K. Huckfeldt has become an associate of the firm of Carnahan, Evans, Cantwell & Brown in Springfield. She received her law degree in 1991 from the University of Missouri-Columbia and her undergraduate degree from William Jewell College in 1988. She practices primarily in the areas of estate planning and administration.

Steve Fenner has been named managing attorney of The Ticket Center in Springfield. He is a former officer with the Springfield Police Department and former assistant prosecuting attorney for Greene County.
