Pfeiffer named to Western appeals court

Columbia attorney Mark Pfeiffer has been named to the Western District Court of Appeals.
Gov. Jay Nixon made the announcement this afternoon. Nixon had until Tuesday to make his selection.
Pfeiffer will fill one of three openings on the Western District. He officially takes the spot of Judge Ron Holliger, who left the bench in January to go work as general counsel for Attorney General Chris Koster.
Pfeiffer is a shareholder in the firm of Bley & Pfeiffer. He’s also a former member of the Missouri Bar’s governing board.
Now that Nixon has made one selection, the Appellate Judicial Commission can meet again to recommend another panel from the same pool of applicants to fill the next vacancy.
