UPDATE: Bond to work for Thompson Coburn

UPDATE: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported this morning that Bond will work at Thompson Coburn. An updated press release sent out on Tuesday morning said Bond “will announce his new role at Thompson Coburn LLP after serving four terms representing the State of Missouri, beginning in 1986.”

After spending decades in the Missouri political arena, U.S. Sen. Kit Bond will move into the private sector.

Where is the longtime Republican lawmaker going? That detail will be revealed tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. in downtown St. Louis, according to a press release.

The press release didn’t specify a location for the announcement, although the spot will be revealed tomorrow morning.

Bond, an attorney who is retiring from the U.S. Senate after roughly 25 years in office, told the Kansas City Star in December that he would be joining an unnamed law firm. The article said “ethics officials in Washington have warned him to remain mum about his plans until after he leaves office.”
