Untreatable SVPs can be committed

‘Main purpose’ of law is to confine dangerous predators, high court rules

The Missouri Supreme Court once again has upheld the constitutionality of a statute that confines sexual offenders indefinitely after they have completed their sentences. In a unanimous opinion written by Judge Zel Fischer, the court ruled that to protect the public, the Missouri Department of Mental Health can confine even those sex offenders who don’t respond to treatment.
