Polsinelli Shughart is opening an office in Dallas, the Kansas City-based law firm said today.
The move marks the eighth state and 16th city in which the firm has an office.
“As our health care and corporate practices have grown, and as the economy continues to improve, Dallas is a natural next step in providing transactional services to clients,” Polsinelli Shughart Chairman Russ Welsh said in a press release.
Welsh said the office will initially include three attorneys: shareholders Jonathan K. Henderson and William E. Swart, and associate Chad K. Knight. Each has experience with mergers and acquisitions.
Welsh said Polsinelli had a prior Texas connection. Former U.S. Rep. Martin Frost, who represented the Dallas-Fort Worth area from 1979 to 2005, is a shareholder in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office.
The firm previously added a Jefferson City office and hired a number of lawyers in Denver, Phoenix and Washington.
“We’re growing, yes, but at a sustainable rate,” Welsh said. “We’re listening to what our clients need and are responding in ways that are good for them and our firm.”
