WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT? I am most proud of starting the Missouri Minority Counsel Program, which provides a venue for minority attorneys to interview with in-house departments for outside counsel work.
WHO IS YOUR LEGAL HERO? Those who do public interest work, in my mind, are the real legal heroes among us, as they are real people carrying out the ideals we worship in fictional legal characters like Atticus Finch and Jake Brigance.
YOUR ALL-TIME FAVORITE U.S. SUPREME COURT JUSTICE? Justice John Marshall. To think that this guy had to make such important decisions at such an early point in our nation’s history is fascinating and inspiring. “Hmm. Yes, I will call it judicial review, and we will own it.”
YOUR GREATEST FEAR? My kids growing up and telling me they want to go to law school because they want to make a lot of money.
ONE THING MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU? I’m actually pretty introverted.
WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR YOUNG LAWYERS? Taking ownership of your career and building relationships is a huge part of becoming happy as a lawyer.
