Schools : Permanent Teacher – Contract – Termination

Where a teacher received a letter in 2007 from the principal pursuant to the Missouri statute that sets forth the process that must be followed to terminate a teacher’s contract and the letter cited two specific examples of insubordination and included a probationary period that ended with the 2007-2008 school year, the 2007 letter and personal improvement plan did not relate to a 2011 notice of insubordination and a personal improvement plan and therefore the school board’s termination of the teaching contract failed to follow the mandatory procedures set forth by law and the trial court properly reversed the school board’s decision.

Judgment is affirmed.
