Catherine Hanaway, a Republican contender for governor, had received $440,363 in monetary contributions for her campaign this year. 
Attorney General Chris Koster, a Democrat who has confirmed he will run for the governor seat, had received $1,060,855 as of the July quarterly report. Tom Schweich, who is running unopposed for Missouri auditor this fall but has hinted he will be another Republican contender for governor in 2016, has raised $610,402 this year.

Lawyers shore up early support for 2016 governor race

The next Missouri governor’s race is two years away, but potential candidates are already stockpiling cash, with a sizable chunk coming from lawyers and law firms.
