Bradley J. Yeretsky, 37, Partner, Stinson Leonard Street, Kansas City
Practice areas: Products liability
Law school: University of Kansas
Brad Yeretsky has an exciting practice, defending manufacturers in state and federal courts across the country from lawsuits over fires, explosions and carbon monoxide poisonings. He’s acted as national counsel for a manufacturer of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and represented a welding products manufacturer in mass tort lawsuits filed by approximately 3,000 welders in more than 1,100 cases pending in eight state courts and in multidistrict proceedings in federal court.
But the case that really sticks with him is when he represented a woman charged with involuntary manslaughter for pulling out in front of a Kansas City fire truck and causing it to crash, killing a firefighter. Through Yeretsky’s pro bono work, she was ultimately sentenced to shock time in jail but faced much worse.
Yeretsky serves as the co-chair of his firm’s pro bono committee, and he is on the board of trustees for Legal Aid of Western Missouri. Yeretsky is also a member of the board at the Blue Valley Educational Foundation and has been involved in the mentoring program at Gordon Parks Elementary School.
