Man settles with red-light runner

A man settled claims of back injuries for $25,000 after he was hit by a car that ran a red light in St. Louis County.

According to information provided by the plaintiff’s attorney, Lindsay Rakers, Gabriel Carr was turning right onto Missouri Highway 100 in Manchester on Dec. 18, 2013, when a car struck the driver’s side front corner of his car. According to a police report, witnesses told police that the car had run a light and that Carr had the right of way. Kimberly Preston was cited for failure to yield.

Carr was treated at the scene but later said he suffered a spinal injury. The case settled with the defendant’s insurer prior to the filing of a lawsuit.
