It’s clear that Annette P. Heller has found her niche. She’s practiced trademark and copyright law for more than 40 years, first with Ralston Purina and then as a solo attorney with a practice limited to trademark, copyright and unfair competition law.
What are some of your proudest career accomplishments? I’m one of the top attorneys in the United States in the number of trademark applications filed.
I represent many individuals, small and medium businesses in trademark and copyright law, and I’m a speaker at various bar seminars and business groups to educate lawyers and business professionals about protecting the valuable asset of a business — the trademark that identifies their service or products.
What inspired you to get involved in the justice system? Wanting to give back to my community.
What has been your favorite part of the job? Seeing my clients which are small and medium size business be successful.
What is something that would surprise people about you? That I was the trademark attorney that represented illustrator Mary Engelbreit and investment company Scottrade when they started their businesses.
