Nicole Zellweger has been interested in the law ever since elementary school when a mock trial class allowed her to represent one of the plaintiffs in the case of The Three Bears v. Goldilocks.
Today, Zellweger has moved on from bears to represent clients in the complex world of franchising where she has enjoyed success in federal and state courts including at the appellate level. She represents both national and international companies and recently helped a client to franchise Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Vietnam.
An active writer and speaker on legal issues, she will have a chapter published in an ABA book on franchising next year. She is equally active in her community through involvement with the Center for Women in Transition and the Clayton Chamber of Commerce where she serves as president.
“I have worked with Nicole Zellweger for her entire legal career during which she has demonstrated a level of professional accomplishment, skill and leadership beyond her years,” writes her nominator. “She is intelligent, ethical, motivated and displays civic responsibility that makes her a natural leader in the legal community.”
What is something that would surprise people about you?
I started running half marathons roughly 12 months ago. In that time, I have run half marathons in three different states and even in Paris, France! Some of these half marathons have been Disney challenges that I have actually run in costume, including a red sequin dress as Jessica Rabbit.
Anything else you want people to know about you?
Originally from Atlanta, I love living in Missouri. I am extremely proud to call myself a Missourian – except on game days! This fall, I will be rooting for the Georgia Bulldogs when they take on Mizzou in Columbia.
