As a young man, Ryan McCarty intended to be a doctor, just like his father, who was a physician. But his father then became a full-time consultant in the medico-legal sphere. That work so fascinated Ryan that he decided to enter the space from the legal side, earning first a biology degree from Bucknell University and then his law degree at Saint Louis University in 2005. In 2012, McCarty joined Polsinelli, where he specializes in cases involving bodily injury or disease. In addition, he has successfully defended numerous banking and financial institutions and prevailed on dispositive motions in both state and federal court against claims. A former NCAA water polo player, McCarty is also a conservationist and serves on the boards of two nonprofits: The Great Rivers Habitat Alliance and the Gateway Chapter of Trout Unlimited.
