Domestic Relations: Parental Rights-Termination-Abandonment

Where a father, who challenged the termination of his parental rights, failed to maintain adequate communication with his child for more than two years while he was in prison and failed to provide even minimal support, the trial court did not err in finding that the father abandoned the child, so the termination of parental rights is affirmed.

Judgment is affirmed.

In the Interest of: R.D.M. (MLW No. 73313/Case No. ED107179 – 9 pages) (Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District, Odenwald, J.) Appealed from circuit court, St. Louis City, Ransom, J. (Lena A. Conley for appellant) (Kelly M. Winkler and Joel E. Anderson for respondents).
