Civil Practice: Settlement Agreement-Enforcement-Sanctions

Where in a dispute arising from a client’s alleged failure to  pay for legal services the client challenged a trial court’s judgment granting the law firm’s motion to enforce settlement and for sanctions, the court erred in finding that the parties had entered into a valid and enforceable settlement agreement, and the court also erred by imposing sanctions, so the case is remanded to set aside the settlement agreement and sanctions and to reinstate both parties’ claims.

Judgment is reversed and remanded.
