$1.1M settlement reached with store where fatal fight broke out

The parent of man shot to death at a store in the St. Louis area reached a $1.1 million settlement with the store, according to one of the plaintiff’s attorneys.

James D. O’Leary Jr. of O’Leary, Shelton, Corrigan, Peterson, Dalton & Quillin said the son was in an argument with a customer, which led to a fight that resulted in the son’s shooting death. O’Leary said the shooter is in prison.

O’Leary said a confidentiality clause barred him from naming the circuit court in which the settlement was approved.
