The Carmody MacDonald law firm in St. Louis delivered 130 decorated boxes of treats April 21 to nurses working during the COVID-19 pandemic at Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur. In past years, the firm has filled and provided treat boxes — containing popcorn, raisins and nuts, granola bars and cookies — for certified public accountants during tax season in March and April.

But after the pandemic prompted the deadline for filing federal income taxes to be extended
until July, the firm instead shared the treats with nurses at Mercy.
