Missouri’s four legal aid organizations have secured a total of $693,158 in grants stemming from the CARES Act, the Legal Services Corp. announced.
Congress appropriated $50 million for LSC in the law. LSC set aside $3 million to help legal aid groups improve/expand telework capabilities, while the remaining $47 million was earmarked to help them continue to provide critical civil legal services to low-income clients.
Legal Aid of Western Missouri was awarded $231,133; Legal Services of Eastern Missouri was awarded $215,742; Mid-Missouri Legal Services Corp. will receive $48,458; and Legal Services of Southern Missouri will receive $197,825.
