The University of Missouri Women’s Law Association has selected Chalana M. Scales-Ferguson, director of the academic success program at the University of Missouri School of Law, as the 2020 recipient of the Carey Mae Carroll Award.
The award is presented annually to a faculty or staff member who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in the advancement of women. WLA members said they selected Ferguson in recognition of her commitment to students and fellow faculty as well as her support for the achievements of women at Mizzou and beyond.
Before joining the law school in June 2019, Scales-Ferguson taught at Saint Louis University School of Law, from which she earned her law degree. She also practiced with the Ferguson Law Group and Lashly & Baer in St. Louis.
