Don McBrideOfficer, Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale

Location: St. Louis

When Don McBride’s firm chose him as co-leader of its financial services industry group, the firm put him in a key position in an area prioritized for growth.

“Don was selected for his leadership role in recognition of his status as a next-generation leader of the firm and the strong connections and knowledge he has already built in the industry,” his nominator wrote.

Representing broker-dealers, clearing firms and investment professionals, McBride has built a solid reputation that has made him a role model for younger attorneys in the securities field. Named in 2018 as a fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, he also took a leading role in planning last year’s 11th Annual Securities Industry Symposium in the St. Louis area.

McBride’s extensive community involvement includes work with Forest Park Forever, St. Louis Fashion Fund, Haven House St. Louis and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

What is something that would surprise people about you?

I can play guitar, although not as well as in years past. When I was younger, I could play “Hotel California,” “Sunshine of Your Love” and, of course, “Stairway to Heaven.”

If you hadn’t become a lawyer, what profession would you have chosen?

Professional fisherman.

What has been your favorite moment as an attorney?

I have many. From the first time signing my name on a pleading as a Missouri licensed attorney to standing up for a pro bono tenant client during a docket call where many other defendants were getting defaulted to obtaining a favorable verdict after a one-week jury trial in St. Louis County.
