Tom Robbins is among the attorneys at the forefront of lobbying on behalf of the burgeoning Missouri medical marijuana industry.

He is both a partner for Strategic Capitol Consulting in Chesterfield and a solo practitioner at Robbins Law Firm in St. Louis County. He works alongside Steve Tilley, former Missouri Speaker of the House and a key adviser to Gov. Mike Parson.

His clients include Anheuser-Busch, the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and the Missouri Medical Cannabis Association.

Robbins earned his law degree in 2005 from the University of Missouri. He worked in public relations for an international law firm in New York City before returning to Jefferson City in 2007 to practice law. The following year, he became general counsel to the State Treasurer’s Office.

He started his own criminal defense law firm, the Robbins Law Firm, in 2009. His law license was suspended in 2012 after he pleaded guilty to charges of possession of a controlled substance and attempting to deliver a controlled substance in a correctional facility. He pleaded guilty and was placed on probation.

The court reinstated his license in November. Today, he also assists clients in the medical cannabis industry through his law firm.
