Husch Blackwell, Kansas City
When companies need assistance with the tax side of their transactions, they rely on the 40-year expertise of Jason Reschly.
Reschly, a partner at Husch Blackwell, is situated in the firm’s food and agribusiness industry group and has represented such companies as Farmland Foods and National Beef.
His practice extends beyond those industries, however. He frequently advises clients in other areas, including companies engaged in the renewable-energy sector.
Reschly’s expertise lies in structuring deals for his clients, including acquisitions and dispositions.
He earned his law degree in 1981 from the University of Missouri. Later that year, he joined Stinson, Mag & Fizzell, where he practiced until moving to the firm that in 2002 became Husch Blackwell. He has focused on tax law for the entirety of his career.
In 2020, he was part of the team of Husch Blackwell attorneys who advised Casey’s General Stores in its $580 million acquisition of Buchanan Energy, the parent company of Bucky’s Convenience Stores.
Also last year, he worked with his colleagues in Husch’s cannabis industry group to represent Schwazze — Colorado’s first publicly traded company to complete an acquisition under a new state law allowing for public-company ownership of cannabis operations — in its $2.6 million acquisition of Mesa Organics.
