Administrative Support Specialist: Legal Administrative Assistant Coordinator and Project Manager, Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale
Pam Quinn’s duties range widely, but they can be best summed as working behind-the-scenes at Greensfelder to ensure everything is working smoothly.
Quinn implemented a more efficient system of using “floating” legal administrative assistants to provide interim support during regular assistants’ vacations and other absences. The move was particularly successful when the office had to shift to remote work during the pandemic.
She also played a key role in Greensfelder’s recent office renovation and move, helped the firm move to a paperless process and leads the firm’s staff-appreciation efforts.
“She is a key member of our firm who works tirelessly every day behind-the-scenes to make the firm a better place and to let all our attorneys and staff know how much they are appreciated,” her nominator wrote.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job has been making sure that the LAAs know that they have someone to come and talk to and be heard. Since I have been in the trenches as a legal administrative assistant, I understand the frustration some days. I try to bring people together and add a bit of fun into everyone’s day. Over the years I have organized things like quarterly luncheons, staff appreciation weeks, volunteer days, chili cook-offs, ice cream socials, a popcorn bar and caramel apple treats.
What is the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I don’t recall a specific recommendation regarding my career. As a single mom, I always did what I had to and never stopped. I felt confident in what I was doing and knew I could complete a job the most efficient and accurate way possible. Dedication and hard work will get you many places, if you want.
