Erv Switzer spent 11 years as chief counsel in the Missouri Attorney General’s Office. He now puts that experience to work at Greensfelder’s white-collar practice.
Switzer serves as officer and general counsel for the firm and also is co-chair of its appellate practice section.
During the course of his career, Switzer has led litigation in dozens of high-profile matters, from the relocation of the Rams football team to St. Louis to litigation resulting in a ban on the sale of ephedra products in the state.
He has served on the boards of both The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and the St. Louis Bar Foundation. He is also a member of the consumer protection committee leadership group under the American Bar Association’s antitrust section.
He also served on the Appellate Judicial Performance Evaluation Committee from 2008-2016, helping rate judges who face retention under the Nonpartisan Court Plan. He has applied for several judgeships himself and has been a finalist for six vacancies on the Missouri Court of Appeals Eastern District.
Switzer earned his law degree from Saint Louis University in 1981.
