Carla Holste is among the best-known family law attorneys in mid-Missouri.

Holste has been with the Jefferson City-based firm of Carson & Coil since 1990. From 2005 to 2007, she chaired the family law section of The Missouri Bar. She now serves as chair of the section’s legislative subcommittee.

In 2006 she won The Missouri Bar’s Roger P. Krumm Family Law Award, which honors excellence in negotiation and trial practice, participation and leadership in local and statewide family law-related efforts and demonstrated commitment to those involved in and affected by family law matters.

Holste is a former member of the Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board. The governor who named her to that position in 2016, former Gov. Jay Nixon, also employer her husband, Scott Holste, as his communications director.

She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and is vice president of its local chapter.

Holste earned her law degree in 1985 from Oklahoma City University.
