In addition to her decades-long practice in family law, estate planning and probate, Cynthia Garnholz has a long record of public service.

She served for 10 years as an alderman for Clayton as well as on a number of committees and commissions in that city. She also is a provisional judge for the city of Clayton and the St. Louis County Municipal Court.

She also is a member-at-large of The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis’ Board of Governors and previously served as chair of BAMSL’s family and juvenile law section. She is a founding member of both WashU’s Women’s Law Initiative and the St. Louis Collaborative Family Law Association, and she is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.

Garnholz earned her law degree in 1980 from Washington University in St. Louis. She worked for the St. Louis County Counselor’s Office for a decade before going into private practice.
