The POWER List: Nicole Fisher

Nicole Fisher discovered her niche as a family law attorney while clerking for Jackson County Circuit Judge Marco Roldan, whose docket at the time included criminal, civil and family law matters.

She opened her own practice dedicated to family law in 2011 and has been heavily involved in Kansas City’s legal associations. She was the 2020 president of the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City, is a former chair of The Missouri Bar Young Lawyers Section and serves on the board of Court Appointed Special Advocates in Jackson County.

Fisher is a 2015 recipient of Missouri Lawyers Media’s Up & Coming Award and an honoree of its Women’s Justice Award in 2016 and 2019. In 2016, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association honored her with its Young Lawyer of the Year Award.

Fisher earned her law degree in 2006 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and worked as a public defender in Las Vegas, Nevada, before returning to Kansas City.
