The Scaglia Law Firm, Independence
Tricia Scaglia found her niche in family law while clerking for the late Jackson County Circuit Judge Kelly Moorhouse, a former family court commissioner.
Though she has not yet succeeded in getting onto the bench herself, her career came full circle in 2019 when she received the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association’s Kelly J. Moorhouse Dedication to Children Award, named for her mentor.
Scaglia also is a 2012 recipient of The Missouri Bar’s Roger P. Krumm Family Law Award and a 2019 honoree of Missouri Lawyers Media’s Women’s Justice Awards. She also is a fellow of both the Missouri and American Bar Foundations.
In addition to her active family law practice based in Independence, she has served on The Missouri Bar’s Board of Governors, as president of the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City and as a member of the Missouri Supreme Court’s Committee for Access to Family Courts.
Scaglia earned her law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1997.
