McDowell, Rice, Smith & Buchanan, Kansas City
A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Tiffany McFarland earned her law degree in 2005 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. After working for the father-centric family law firm Cordell & Cordell, she joined McDowell Rice in 2010.
She is now the co-chair of the firm’s family law and divorce practice group. As part of a practice focused on high-net-worth dissolutions, McFarland works to preserve clients’ assets and reach an equitable division of marital property while keeping conflicts to a minimum and advocating for the best interests of their children.
McFarland has held leadership roles in the family law sections of both the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and the Johnson County Bar Association in Kansas. She also teaches family law as an adjunct professor at her alma mater.
McFarland was part of Missouri Lawyers Media’s Up & Coming class in 2017. The following year, she was a recipient of its Women’s Justice Awards as a litigation practitioner.
