The POWER List: J. Zachary Bickel

Zach Bickel is a leader both in his firm and in the wider legal community.  

Bickel serves as the managing partner of the Robertson Law Group, where he and fellow POWER honoree Susan Ford Robertson have taken on some of the hardest and most complex cases around.  

Examples include a 2019 Missouri Supreme Court ruling involving the proper venue for extensive litigation against a talcum powder manufacturer and a long-running wrongful death lawsuit against a tobacco company. He also represented the Ford Motor Company in a product liability suit involving an explosion that killed a state trooper and injured a man, which was reversed on appeal twice before it was resolved. 

He has served as chair of The Missouri Bar’s Civil Practice and Procedure Committee and the Ad Hoc Committee to Study Court Costs. He’s also a former chair of the board of directors of Jackson County CASA and previously was a member of the Judicial Performance Evaluation Committee that reviews appellate judges seeking retention under the Nonpartisan Court Plan. 

Bickel earned his law degree in 2006 from the University of Missouri. Missouri Lawyers Media honored him as an Up & Coming Lawyer in 2013.
