Haar & Woods, St. Louis
Bob Haar is who companies turn to when their cases are set to rise above state circuits.
Haar’s recent clients include the St. Louis Rams and its owner Stan Kroenke in the team’s exit from St. Louis to Los Angeles, which was finalized at the end of 2021.
He has also represented the insurer for The Doe Run Resources Corp. In 2017, the Missouri Supreme Court held that due to the terms of the insurance policy, his client wasn’t obligated to defend Doe Run from a set of lawsuits because of the policy’s “pollution exclusion.”
Haar co-founded Haar & Woods in 1997. Prior to his time in private practice and after he earned his law degree from Yale in 1977, he clerked for Judge Harold Leventhal of the U.S. Court of Appeals in D.C. and then-Associate Justice William H. Rehnquist of the U.S. Supreme Court.
Haar then worked in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel before he became an assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri in 1980.
He previously served on the St. Louis Board of Commissioners between 1994 and 1998, and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Bar Foundation.
Haar’s practice today includes business litigation, constitutional and appellate litigation, criminal defense and internal investigations, and professional liability.
