Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, St. Louis
Kathy Butler has honed her practice in advising health care providers including hospitals, health systems and physician practices.
She has accumulated most of her 35 years of experience in health care law at Greensfelder, where she began her career in 1987 after she earned her law degree from Saint Louis University.
In 1993, she left for BJC HealthCare and worked as The Jewish Hospital of St. Louis’ primary in-house attorney. She also worked with the hospital system’s legal team as the hospital began to merge Barnes Hospital, the Jewish Hospital of St. Louis and Christian Health System.
Butler left BJC in 1995 to re-join Greensfelder, where she is now an officer who leads the firm’s health care practice group. She counsels clients on the development of hospital and hospital-system policies and professional service contracts as well as regulatory issues and compliance.
She previously chaired The Missouri Bar’s Health & Hospital Law Committee and is a past president of the Missouri Society of Health Care Attorneys.
