Missouri Lawyers Media Publisher Liz Irwin said that this year’s ICON honorees have practiced law for 1,370 collective years.

“That, of course, doesn’t include the countless hours they’ve expended in practicing their craft, the legal precedents they’ve set, the economic benefit of their collective work or the geographic scope of their careers,” Irwin said.

Missouri Lawyers Media recognized the honored attorneys and judges during the 2022 ICON Awards luncheon on June 29. 300 co-workers, friends and family and their honorees celebrated at a Missouri Athletic Club luncheon in downtown St. Louis.

Among the honorees were two former U.S. senators, five current and former judges and seven founders or managing partners of a law firm. Three followed their parents’ and grandparents’ footsteps into a law career and six had children who have become lawyers themselves, while two others were the first in their families to attend and graduate college.

“These honorees were carefully selected from scores of nominations and represent the epitome of exceptional work over the course of a law career,” Irwin said.

Missouri Lawyers Media’s virtual Diversity & Inclusion Awards will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2022. Nominations for the 2022 Up & Coming Awards are due Friday, July 8.
