Tad Eckenrode takes on tough cases on behalf of health care professionals and providers.
In 2018, Eckenrode scored defense wins in two cases against his clients’ former patients. One case involved a woman who died after one of her blood vessels tore during a St. Louis County doctor’s cardiac catheterization.
The other case involved a man who murdered his family hours after his last therapy session with a St. Charles mental health professional. It was the fifth-largest defense win reported to Missouri Lawyers Media that year.
One of his most notable cases is his defense of a defendant over a $2.58 million verdict in 2008 for a man who had lost his leg after an infection. Klotz v. Shapiro’s Missouri Supreme Court appeal set a precedent on the non-economic damages cap at the time.
Eckenrode earned his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1983.
