Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, St. Louis
Kathy Butler has spent most of her esteemed health care law career at Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale.
She started her career there in 1987 after earning her law degree from Saint Louis University.
She left in 1993 to join BJC HealthCare, working as the primary in-house attorney for the Jewish Hospital of St. Louis. She also worked with the hospital’s legal team as it began to merge Barnes Hospital, the Jewish Hospital of St. Louis and Christian Health System.
She returned to Greensfelder in 1995, where she is now an officer leading the firm’s health care practice group. She counsels clients on the development of policies for hospitals and hospital systems and professional service contracts, in addition to compliance and regulatory issues.
She is a past chair of The Missouri Bar’s Health and Hospital Law Committee and is a past president of the Missouri Society of Health Care Attorneys. Last year, she was elected to the Meritas global alliance of law firms’ board of directors.
