The POWER List 2023: Mandy J. Kamykowski

Mandy Kamykowski heads one of the few women-owned law firms in Missouri — and one of the state’s most successful in defending medical malpractice claims in court.

Kamykowski is the managing partner and one of the founding members of Kamykowski & Taylor, which also includes fellow POWER LIST honoree Mariel Taylor. The firm opened in 2014 and immediately launched into a series of jury trials.

Among them was a 2015 case against a pediatrician alleged to have failed to detect a congenital heart defect that led a newborn to suffer severe brain damage. The case, which featured a $25 million claim, ended in a defense win.

Her recent wins include one last year in a case alleging that an urgent care clinic should have provided an earlier diagnosis of a woman’s debilitating spinal epidural abscess, which featured an alleged $3.6 million in damages.

Kamykowski earned her law degree with a health law certificate in 2002 from Saint Louis University.
