Mariel Taylor became a name partner at the firm now known as Kamykowski & Taylor in 2021, continuing its standing as one of the few women-owned litigation firms in Missouri.
Practicing alongside fellow POWER LIST honoree Mandy Kamykowski, Taylor focuses on the representation of hospitals, physician groups and individual physicians and nurses.
Her litigation work ranges from a 2019 case in Phelps County in which a jury sided with a surgeon on a woman’s claims that she was injured during a sinus operation to her 2016 defense of a surgery center from a man’s claims related to complications after surgery on his Achilles tendon.
She also advises health care providers on day-to-day legal issues ranging from compliance with patient-privacy laws to responding to licensing boards and government investigations to risk management.
Taylor is a member of the American Bar Association’s medicine and law committee, the American Health Lawyers Association and the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance. She earned her law degree from Saint Louis University in 2007.
