Sandberg Phoenix & Von Gontard, St. Louis
Michelle Drake’s practice focuses on defending hospitals, physicians and long-term care providers from medical malpractice claims.
She has represented Illinois hospitals and physicians in medical malpractice litigation including claims of birth injuries and wrongful death, in addition to claims against neurology, surgery and radiology providers.
Drake has defended a neonatologist for allegedly failing to resuscitate a premature newborn delivered at 28 weeks, and an emergency room physician facing allegations that their care and treatment resulted in a urethral tear.
She’s also defended an Illinois hospital against allegations that two babies’ complications resulted from delivery mistakes and a claim that an early discharge of a patient had resulted in a stroke.
Drake earned her law degree from the University of Missouri in 1997.
Before joining Sandberg Phoenix in 2016, where she is now a shareholder and a member of the firm’s health law practice group, Drake gained experience from various firms in St. Louis before running the Drake Law Firm as a solo attorney.
