A woman injured in a highway-speed collision in southwestern Missouri reached a $2 million settlement, according to her attorney.

Nick Smart of Strong-Garner-Bauer in Springfield said the plaintiff was traveling westbound on Route N from Route M in Jasper County when another vehicle excited from northbound Interstate 49 and made a left turn directly into her path.

She was transported from the scene by air ambulance, having suffered multiple rib fractures, an open right patella fracture, left femoral head fracture, left inferior acetabular fracture, left radial head fracture with hemarthrosis and mild traumatic brain injury.

She endured multiple lower extremity surgeries and spent approximately one month in the hospital and inpatient rehab. She has residual neurocognitive, affective and behavioral changes and PTSD, with anxiety and depression.

Smart said the case settled in mediation prior to the filing of litigation.
