The 6th Circuit Judicial Commission selected Susan M. Casey, Myles A. Perry and Abe “Quint” Shafer V for a circuit judge vacancy on the Platte County Circuit Court.

Gov. Mike Parson has 60 days to pick one of the three to succeed of Judge Thomas C. Fincham, who retires at the end of the year.

Casey is a career law clerk and chief of staff for U.S. District Judge Roseann Ketchmark of the Western District of Missouri. Perry is an assistant prosecuting attorney and trial team leader for the Platte County Prosecutor’s Office. Shafer is an associate circuit judge in Platte County.

The five-member commission said Perry and Shafer were chosen unanimously while Casey had three votes in support. They were among eight applicants interviewed on Nov. 14.
