After a driver crossed the centerline and struck the plaintiff head on, her lawyer has obtained a six-figure settlement a year after the crash.

Lauren Perez was traveling eastbound on 42nd Street in Independence when the occurred, said her attorney, Laurie Del Percio of the Horn Law Firm.

Perez sustained injuries to her head, neck and back and was treated by a chiropractor.

“The tort-feasor was uninsured. As such, a claim was made under her own insurance policy,” Del Percio said.

Perez was able to obtain a $100,585 settlement with Cincinnati Insurance Company.

“What really helped is we had photographs that show that it was a severe collision, that it wasn’t a fender bender; it was a hard impact,” Del Percio said. She also explained to the insurance company that her client’s daily household activities were impacted because of her injuries.
