Dana Redwing oversees all civil legal matters for St. Louis County, its departments and offices, while administering a significant operating budget. She leads a team of 35 legal professionals who handle a broad range of practice areas, including general litigation, employment, tax, transactional, legislation, municipal law, worker’s compensation, risk management and sunshine compliance.

In 2025, Redwing focused on maintaining a successful law practice, leading and guiding her team with intention, and helping each person be the best version of themselves. She remained committed to providing thoughtful, principled legal advice to clients while honoring the importance of balance between professional and personal responsibilities.

Prior to her appointment as county counselor, Redwing served as associate general counsel at the Bi-State Development Agency, where she focused on corporate compliance, ethics, and employment law. She also served as partner at the Fox Smith Law Firm and as chief counsel for the Eastern Region of Missouri. Redwing serves as commissioner for the St. Louis Zoological Park Subdistrict.
