Steve Jeffery has built his practice around representing everyday people who choose to stand up for themselves when outside forces threaten to alter their environment and way of life — whether they are fighting a data center, a silica frac sand mine or a hog farm CAFO. He takes deep pride in standing alongside those who place their trust in him.
He has watched the legal industry evolve from the IBM Selectric typewriter through PCs and the Internet to artificial intelligence, and said that despite it all, “there will never be a replacement for good lawyering.”
Drawing on his military background, he approaches leadership by treating everyone — staff, clients, lawyers and adverse parties alike — with dignity and respect, and takes to heart the principle that a leader leads from the front but eats only after the last enlisted person has gone through the line. He advises young attorneys to observe and learn from older lawyers and to be kind to everyone.
