Courts budget committee orders juvenile facilities to close in 2012

Franklin County is one of six rural jurisdictions across southern and mid-Missouri that will lose its juvenile detention facility. Closing the six centers will eliminate 63.8 full-time equivalent positions and save the judiciary $1.7 million in salaries and another $1 million in benefits, according to a report prepared by a work group of the courts budget committee.
