Hanaway likely to join Ashcroft Group

U.S. Attorney Catherine Hanaway is planning to join the lobbying and consulting group headed by former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft, according to a person she talked with about her plans but who asked not to be identified. Hanaway said in a phone interview that she could not divulge her plans or say which prospective employers she had spoken with until she formally announced her resignation to the U.S. Department of Justice. When asked if she would head to the Ashcroft's firm, The Ashcroft Group, Hanaway refused to answer, telling a reporter, "I hope you understand you're asking me to breach Department of Justice protocol."
